about us

Hello, my  name is Mark Varley, founder of Bloodhound Home Inspections. Before I tell you about my business please allow me to tell you a little about myself. My family and I have lived in central Arkansas for the past 28 years. We were drawn to Arkansas by its natural beauty, the great weather and sunshine. Lake Ouachita has been our weekend getaway for each and every one of these years.

We decided on Arkansas after visiting the Hot Springs area a few times during weekend trips taken from Kansas City, MO where I attended professional school. After graduation we packed up the trucks and moved to the Little Rock area and opened a chiropractic practice in Sherwood - then bought a house in Maumelle. Every weekend we would come back to the lake and to Hot Springs. Skip ahead...

19 years later I retired from my practice and we moved to the Hot Springs area! We have settled in Hot Springs Village and really enjoy it. The lakes, the golfing, the trail system, etc. Retirement was difficult for me, more so than I had ever dreamed. I missed working and meeting people. Practicing took up an enormous amount of time and energy so I was looking for another career that would not be so demanding on my time but would be rewarding. Also, when I was a young man I worked construction with my soon to be in-laws. I liked construction very much and build things still today. I wanted to put the knowledge learned in those years of construction to use in my new career.

Home Inspection was the perfect answer for me. It allows me to build a business helping people, instead of helping their joints feel better, helping them make informed decisions about their real estate purchase. I hope that I have the opportunity to help you in your purchase too.

Why Choose Bloodhound?

Certified Professional

In addition to the standard training that all licenced Arkansas home inspectors have to complete, I hold a CPI from InterNachi which is the world's largest nonprofit association of residential and commercial property inspectors.. InterNACHI-Certified Professional Inspectors® are required to pass an Inspector Exam, follow a comprehensive Standards of Practice, abide by a strict Code of Ethics, and take accredited Continuing Education courses each year.

Flexible Scheduling

Most of the time I can schedule your house the same week - if you are in town and in need of a weekend inspection, please call to check availability.

Out of town?

Many of the inspections that I do are for home buyers moving to this area from another state. I can get your home inspected without you having to be here.

RE-INSPECTIONS at no charge

Re-inspections are done when a deficiency is found in a home and is then corrected. When you are out of town it is sometimes necessary to have the repairs verified to be sure that they were completed and completed correctly. I do this at no charge. Local, or out of town clients.

fast

You don't have to wait hours or days for your inspection report. Your report will be sent out from the driveway before I leave the job.  Please don't confuse fast with hurried. I schedule a maximum of 2 inspections in a day. This gives me more than enough time to complete the home that you hire me to inspect without having to hurry to my next job.

quality of the report

The home inspection report that you receive from Bloodhound is made from the highest quality reporting software available. Each report is complete with pictures of the home and pictures of any deficiencies that need described. Home inspection reports can be lengthy and for this reason, in addition to the detailed sections of the report, a report summary is included at the beginning to put it all in one place.

Dock inspections for entergy

When homes with a dock on Lake Catherine or Lake Hamilton are purchased, Entergy is requiring that the boat dock be inspected. I have been trained to do these as well. I do them as stand alone inspections and as an addition to the home inspection.

My first experience with Mark was that I unknowingly made an illegal request of him. He kindly set me straight when he could easily have taken advantage of my ignorance. So, impressed with his integrity, I hired him to inspect a house I’m thinking of buying. It was in a neighboring town so I was expecting a mileage fee. Nope. Not only was Mark very knowledgeable and professional, he also was totally at ease with the way I followed him around, pointed to things, asked lots of questions, and caused him to take extra time on the job. He was very thorough in all that he looked at and gave thorough answers to my questions. As a retired landlady, I actually know a little about property maintenance. Where some folks in his position might have found my questions annoying or even threatening, he seemed to find them engaging. It’s always a pleasure to deal with someone who obviously enjoys his work and, as an older woman, to deal with someone as respectful as Mark. I’d wholeheartedly recommend Bloodhound to anyone!

Mark Varley should be rated a 10!
Thanks to his thorough inspection on a home I was trying to purchase long distance. I was relying on the eyes of my real estate agent, and was in the process of purchasing this property.
Mark inspected it and sent me photos of all that was wrong with the house. It was in such bad shape I don't believe anyone could live in it!
My heartfelt thanks to you Mark for saving me!
People, consider yourself lucky to choose Mark Varley for all your inspections.
Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU.
